Matthew Ackerman joined Monarch as Chief Financial Officer in May 2024. As CFO, Matthew oversees all financial operations at Monarch, measuring and managing cash generation and capital reinvestment against strategic commitments to support ongoing organic and acquisitive growth.
Matthew’s experience spans over two decades; after graduating with a BBA in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin in 1994, he began his career at General Electric, advancing through various financial leadership positions across multiple industrial and GE Capital businesses globally. In 2007, he transitioned to private equity-backed businesses, serving as Senior Finance Director and progressing to CFO in companies including HD Supply, Optimas OE Solutions, and MNX Global Logistics. At MNX, Matthew played a pivotal role in transforming global business with a disciplined, data-driven approach using 80-20 principles, culminating in a successful sale to UPS in 2023. Matthew’s achievements include leading major acquisitions and business sales, and he was recognized as LA Business Journal's Middle Market CFO of the Year in 2022.
Outside of his professional life, Matthew enjoys running, golfing, and reading. He has been married to his wife for 24 years and is a proud father to their children.
