Jeffrey Colton joined Monarch in June 2016. As President, he oversees all aspects of the Construction division, ensuring profitable growth and exceptional landscape experiences for customers and employees.
Jeffrey's career in landscape construction began in 1980 at ValleyCrest Landscape, a family business. Despite initial concerns about nepotism, he started in an entry-level estimating position after college, quickly moving up to business development and then overseeing operations in Northern California. Over two decades, he grew the business's revenue from $8 million to over $50 million. In 2016, Brian Helgoe invited Jeffrey to bring his experience to Monarch, where he now focuses on expanding construction operations to complement Monarch's maintenance services.
Throughout his career, Jeffrey has led significant projects, including the Facebook campuses in Menlo Park, the Apple Campus, and Larry Ellison's residence. He also worked on the landscaping of the San Francisco Giants' ballfield, Mission Rock, and China Basin Park. Jeffrey has received multiple awards, such as the Silver Shovel and the President's Award at ValleyCrest.
Jeffrey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from California State University, Northridge via San Diego State as well as several professional licenses. Living in Northern California, he enjoys his Peloton gym, playing golf, and spending time with his family, including his grandson.
