Rafa started his career in landscaping at Blue Skies.  Blue Skies joined Terracare Associates (TCA) in 2016 then TCA joined the Monarch family in 2017. Growing up, Rafa was used to working hard and outdoors by helping his father on their farm and translated that hard work to his career. He started as a Gardener, and after a year, he was promoted to Field Foreman. His diligent work ethic has continued to shine and he is now an Area Manager! Rafa has continued to work at Monarch because of his great supervisors who have all been supportive, and a great source of knowledge and information.

Rafa enjoys working outdoors along with others.  He likes knowing how his work impacts the client sites. His biggest motivator is his family, including his two young children. He always pushes himself to accomplish his goals and complete every task he starts. He attributes some of his success to going to school; he has his Certified Landscape Technician (CLT) and Certified Playground Inspector and took courses at Southwestern College such  as Soil Science, Project Management, and Landscape Construction. 

Rafa’s advice to new employees is that they can make a career here if they ask questions, continue learning, and enjoy landscaping.  Monarch allows its employees to grow within the company  by offering training and opportunities to employees who want the challenge.  One of Rafa's goals is to become a Branch Manager someday.
